A NIGHT TO REMEMBER MARKS HARBOURMEN’s RETURN

AND `RAZOR RUDDOCK’ GOT TO MEET TOWN LEGEND, TOMMY WELSH

Following the event, the League received a Thank You from Holyhead Town for the coverage given before the event, and explained what a great night they had. The Chairman, Mr Ben Williams wanted to Thank everyone involved and let you know how the evening went. So I share with you – below, his letter:-

"Last Saturday saw Holyhead Town FC celebrate their resurrection in style by hosting an evening with former Liverpool, Tottenham and England defender Neil 'Razor' Ruddock.
However the former professional was overshadowed by the presence of Town legend Tommy Welsh. Tommy, who still holds the goal scoring record with 631 goals, was presented with a bespoke trophy and the title of honorary president at the club.

On top of this it was announced that the legendary number 9 shirt in which he wore was to be retired for good. Tommy signed the current strip along with a match ball in order for them to be auctioned off.
The home shirt was won by Dale and Michelle Fleming of the Chester Inn, who then duly handed the shirt back to the Welsh family. It was a lovely gesture from the club's main sponsors. The football was won by Gerard Cunningham, the son of another Holyhead Town legend, Paddy Cunningham.

The club would like to thank everyone involved in making this a night to remember and officially marked the return of the Harbourmen.

BEN WILLIAMS Chairman Holyhead Town.
