AMLWCH TOWN's AWAY DAY POINTS

By McCann Dave

AT ABERFFRAW

Aberffraw failed to score again and it is now five games since they found the net. Up against an Amlwch Town Reserves team that benefited from the first team’s game being postponed . They battled hard to break their scoring jinx only to find the opposition keeper in good form when they did get through, and with their own defence in good form half-time arrived goal-less. The opening goal arrived just two minutes after the re-start, but it was Town who scored it. Brian Jones created a little space for himself just outside the penalty box and hit a cracking effort into the bottom corner. The game became a battle for control of the mid-field and both sides cancelled each other out with chances at a premium. But with five minutes remaining Amlwch made the game safe with a second goal. With the home defender in possession, Chris Byast put him under pressure and the defender turned to play it back to keeper Roberts, but Byast intercepted the intended back pass and poke it through keeper Gerallt Roberts legs.
