BRO BAG FIVE TO STAY TOP

WITH BIRTHDAY BOY JAC THOMAS TTING THE FIFTH

SATURDAY 29th of August 2015
With five games under their belts – for most teams, the League table is beginning to take shape and mean something. Bro Goronwy, who brought Valley F.C’s. one hundred percent record to an end in mid-week to go one point clear at the top, travelled to Llanfairfechan Res., knowing that nothing less than victory would keep them there, whilst the hosts were looking to add to their first win. So the game began with a competitive edge, but slowly the visitors began to impose themselves on the game yet despite chances , half-time was fast approaching with the score locked at 0 – 0 but with two minutes to go, Andy Williams struck to put Bro ahead.
The second half saw Bro pressing to make the game safe and some seven minutes in, a penetrating raid down the wing ended with Dan Fairhead volleying home the resulting cross and give the visitors some breathing space. Though it didn’t last long as Dave Williams worked some space on the edge of the box to send a shot sailing over the keeper and pull it back to 2-1 [60]. It was now too close for comfort and, Bro were left rueing the missed chances, that is until the last three minutes when they struck three goals to leave the hosts stunned. Callum Thomas despite being out wide, curled a lovely shot over the keeper [87], Andy Williams rounded the keeper for 4 v 1 [89] and the icing was well and truly put on the cake in the last piece of action as young striker Jac Thomas made it 5-1. Having signed forms for the club at the start of the season he could not register until his 16th birthday. So the local youngster waited patiently for his birthday to be registered and celebrate in style with the fifth goal in his 30 minute debut spell. Confidently showing his marker a clean pair of heels before embarrassing the keeper by going around him with ease and slotting home, to keep Bro Top of the League.
