AS LLANFAIRFECHAN BOOK FINAL PLACE

NWCFA JUNIOR CUP SEMI-FINALS
The KonX Wales Anglesey league had three teams contesting the semi-finals of the NWCFA Junior Cup Bro Goronwy, Llanfairfechan Res., and Llanfairpwll Res., and so were guaranteed one team in the final
Bro Goronwy and Llanfairfechan clashed at Bangor on Friday night with Llan’ coming out on top by two goals to one. They were quick out of the starting blocks and took an early lead when Josh Summers connected with a half volley that was simply unstoppable and thundered into the top corner.[10] Not only were Bro a goal down but they were struggling to cut out the threat of Mark Chapman whose speed, control and gave the Bro defence a torrid time. Llan were looking much more likely to add a second though, Ryan Jones was unlucky to see his `goal bound’ header deflect off a defender [H/T 1-0]
Danger man Chapman looked to have scored but Connor Lewis cleared off the line, but he was not to be denied minutes later when he outpaced everyone to a long through ball to chip it over the out coming keeper [50]
Strangely this saw Bro enjoy their best spell, hitting the upright, and going close twice before Jac Thomas pulled one back, the keeper looked to have beaten Thomas to the ball but he went in bravely and came out with the ball that he then slid into the unguarded net.
The game became more open with chances at both ends but no further goals and Llan take their place in the final.
