WHILST SAM ROBERTS [BRO G] & ANDY CLARKE [MAES B] HIT HAT-TRICKS

SATURDAY 21st of November 2015
Last week, Kon X Wales Anglesey League teams were involved in the NWCFA junior cup looking to book a place in round three, and this week it was the cup again, the BWLCH CAR-BOOT TROPHY. Played on a league basis of group A and B and the two teams who top their group meeting in the Final

Group leaders, Llangoed and District, having already collected the three points with a 3-2 home victory over Llanfairpwll, had the chance, in the away’ fixture to crush any hopes that Llanfairpwllt may have had of topping the group. They were handed a further boost when Llanfair conceded home advantage.. In a game, considerably affected by the blustery conditions, both reams did their utmost to keep the ball on the `deck ’and play it around to create chances Lingoes took the lead – courtesy of the conditions, when Mathew Owen used the wind to curl the ball in to the net direct from a corner-kick and were only denied a second by the wood-work as they enjoyed a dominating spell. This Llanfair team never give up – and with the strikers in the team they are always capable of pulling a game around, and it was no surprise when they equalized. The goal came following a corner that llangoed appeared to have cleared, but the ball was worked back down the flank and when the cross came over Steve Tindall was there to nod it home.
There were no further goals and the result effectively ends Llanfirs hopes with seven points and one left to play [Bro Goronwy].whilst Llangoed, also with one to play [Bro Goronwy] are on ten points. So group A finalists will be Llangoed or Bro Goronwy.

Meanwhile Bro Goronwy were picking up three points AND doing their `goal difference’ a power of good with ten goals against Bodorgan Juniors in which Sam Roberts bagged a hat-trick. Paul Scholes report follows...................................................

RO STROLL TO 10-0 BWLCH CAR BOOT WIN

Rarely finding top gear Bro easily walked to a win against basement boys Bodorgan, Sam Roberts' hat trick & Andy Swindells double the scoring highs of the afternoon ........

Bro maintained a 100% record in this seasons Bwlch Car Boot Cup with an easily acheived 10-0 victory at Bodorgan to keep them on course for this seasons final and a chance of holding on to the piece of silverware earned last season.
From the opening minute it was always going to be a one way contest with the only question a case of how many goals Bro Goronwy would plummet past the helpless hosts.
In a way the lack of opposition quality hindered the league leaders as at times they struggled to play a fluent game and missed chances galore that could have doubled the score line.
Bro got off to a flying start, with 3 goals in just over the first 10 minutes.
Graham Jones' well directed low free kick began the goal spree after only 3 minutes played and not long after Sam Roberts nodded home a Ryan Jones delivery for number 2.
Andy Swindells was the creator for the next, flicking into Callum Thomas' path who squared across the face of goal to leave Ryan Jones a simple tap in.
It didn't show that Bro were using this cup match to utilise their full squad with the likes of Dylan Jones,Sam Regan & Chris Hough aswell as deadly strikers Andy Williams & Jac Thomas given the afternoon off with the youngsters stepping in their place not looking out of sorts.
Chances were being squandered in front of goal for the visitors as returning keeper Jonny Sweetser-Hawkes was left to be an observer all game.
Andy Swindells caught a sweet shot to perfection from the edge of the box to send Bro 4-0 up at the break before Bodorgan's goal led a charmed life.
Keeper John Webster flying to a tip over, the home defence then throwing everything in front of the ball to block and then finally Graham Jones smashing the ball over the cross bar.
Half-Time 0-4.
Ryan Jones thundered the foot of the post before Sam Roberts made it 0-5, Liam Griffiths' mazy run creating the danger to pull the ball back for an assist for Roberts' clean cut finish.
Andy Swindells soon also gained his double, stopper Webster unable to show any authority with the high cross as Ryan Jones put in a challenge that helped the ball on to Swindells who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
It was 7 up after 65 minutes, young centre half Connor Lewis showing the strikers how to finish, getting hold of a drop down from the corner piece routine to curl a stunning right footed finish.
Adam Henderson made it 0-8 with a finely taken volley that the gloves man couldn't get anywhere near to prevent it soaring into the net before Sam Roberts picked up his hat trick with 5 minutes remaining, gratefully accepting the dropped ball from the keeper to simply roll the ball over the line.
Double figures was reached with the last kick off the match, Ryan Jones strength on the ball could only be stopped by a cynical foul in the penalty area leaving substitute Dylan Jones to stroke the spot kick low into the corner of the net for a simple 10-0 to the visitors.
Full-Time 0-10.

In group B, leaders Valley traveled to Maes y Bryn with the hosts looking to register their first win. Neither team were at full strength but Maes did have their regular strike force in the starting eleven and were looking to them for goals.................... , and they didn’t disappoint. Andy. Clarke put them ahead and Paul AinswOrth doubled thru lead. Clarke went on to add his second, before Justin Williams pulled it back to 3-1.But Clarke had the final say completing his hat-trick to make it 4-1
The Llanfairfechan v Pentraeth tie was postponed
