WHILST MAES Y BRYN COMEBACK FROM TWO DOWN AGAINST LLANFAIRFECHAN

BWLCH CAR BOOT CUP 31ST OCTOBER 2015

In the BWLCH car- boot cup Llanfairfechan Reserves travelled the short distance to Maes y Bryn to `replay’ the game abandoned - with the host leading 1 v 0, following a serious leg injury sustained by Rhys Griffiths of LLANFAIRFECHAN and the wait for the Ambulance to arrive.
Llan’ stunned their hosts by taking an early lead through the consistent Arron Davies, and whilst the hosts were not playing badly they found the Llan’ defence – ably assisted by mid-field, hard to break down, and despite creating a number of chances they were continually denied by keeper Davies who made a number of excellent saves. The more men Maes, pushed forward in search of an equalizer, the more risk they took of being caught on the break, and the Llanfairfechan game plan worked as Cameron Hales broke clear to net for the second week in succession.[0-2]
Now the hosts were up against it with some twenty minutes left, but once Paul Ainsworth struck to pull one back, the visitors were subjected to an onslaught and despite the heroics of keeper Davies it was no surprise when striker Andy Clark struck the equalizer.

Whilst Maes y Bryn and Llanfairfechan were sharing four goals in the group B game, Shaun Morris of Llanfairpwll’ was hitting SIX of his own in the group, A game against Bodorgan Juniors. Amazingly no other player netted more than one in a twelve nil victory. Other scorers were Greg Parry,Aled Steele, Steve Tindall, Garry Jones, Paul Jones, and Jason Owen.

PIcture SIX MORE for MORRIS Shaun Morris takes a half time break before completing his double hat-trick

Bodorgan Juniors, may have conceded a few goals recently, but remember it’s not that long ago they led, runaway leaders Bro Goronwy two nil with 89 minutes gone. One thing for sure they are a plucky bunch and as they gain experience they can only get better. Their opponents are a prime example, rock bottom last season and now..............
