MOVE IN TO THE RUNNERS –UP SPOT

Trearddur Bay Utd were looking to extend their unbeaten run at the expense of visitors Cemaes Bay who were looking for maximum points in their battle with Bro Goronwy for the runners-up spot. With two sides in top form it was going to take something special to separate the two, and if it’s something special you want, then look no further than Steve Mason. A raid down the flank by Lewis Connor, a cross that sailed over the heads of defenders was heading towards Mason who with perfect timing met it on the volley to send the ball rocketing into the roof of the net before the keeper even had chance to ,move. In the words of Trearddur Manager Nigel Chambers “...it was a wonder goal’, scored by an exceptional player. The goal lifted Cemaes and Keiran Thomas struck to double the lead. The hosts did pull one back but the damage had been done and Cemaes went on to take three valuable points, that puts them into second place.
So with one game to play Cemaes are on 28 points, whilst Bro Goronwy are on 27 points, also with one to play and goal difference at this moment is 19 and 18 so it’s going to be close...........
