CONGRATULATIONS TO BRO GORONWY ON CUP DOUBLE

Congratulations to Bro Goronwy Football club on winning the BWLCH CARBOOT CUP for the second successive season, theirs being the ONLY name on it . They had a whirlwind start, with Valley keeper Wilson pulling off two excellent saves, before he saved an Andy Swindell’s penalty......... and only some three minutes gone. But then disaster, with the rain coming down heavier, he went down to collect a Swindell effort only for the ball to skid off the surface, slip through his fingers and roll into the net..... and all this in the space of some five minutes.
Valley slowly got back into the game and were unlucky when, with the Bro keeper beaten, the ball was cleared off the line and then cleared up field, and within a few minutes they doubled their lead, Jac Thomas, from out on the right touchline, drilled a `cross come shot’ that sailed in to the roof of the net and the half ended with Bro doing the pressing [ h/t 2-0]
