DEION DOES DEMOLITION

JOB ON LLANGOED WITH HAT-TRICK

Llangefni Town Res., with six league games to go, could still win the KonX Wales Anglesey Football league title. Admittedly, it’s an outside chance, but they still have Valley to play, and Cemaes Bay home and away, whilst Valley have to play leaders Bro Goronwy home and away. Draws in these games would be just what the doctor ordered for Cefni, but obviously they need to win ALL their own games.

So it was a case of `start here', with the visit of Llangoed and District. The visitors are a good capable team that just lacks consistency, and Cefni were no doubt hoping that they had one of their `off days' and to ensure they did Cefni were in determined mood from the off.

The hosts were quick out of the starting blocks and Hit-man, Deion Roberts gave them the start they wanted and slammed a hat-trick with the hosts 3-0 up at the break

Llangoed dragged themselves back into the game with a Charlie McKenna strike and they began to string some passes together as they searched for another. There was no way Cefni were going to let the game slip away and Llion Jones struck their fourth to settle any doubts and when substitute Gareth Hughes took to the field he grabbed the opportunity to put his name on the scorers list with goal number five.
Vince, the Llangefni manager, may think it’s too big an ask to take the title from under the noses of the top three but he is in no doubt that his team will have a big say on where the title ends up as they look to the final fixtures.
