AS THEY COME FROM BEHIND AT LLANRWST

Joining the other Anglesey League clubs in round three are Llanfairpwll Res., who came from two goals down at Llanrwst to level and take the tie to extra-time where they went on to win 6-3. The hosts were ahead inside two minutes through a Cai Williams strike and doubled their advantage thanks to Phil Snape [20]. Llanrwst were now dominating and their number nine, Sion Thomas was outstanding, and not even a heavy collision with the opposition keeper, and a number of bruising tackles could stop or slow him down and the visitor’s days looked numbered. But they got a break when Joe Pritchard conceded an own goal [55] and they were awarded a penalty which Ricky Roberts converted to level [62] that saw the tie go into extra-time. Llanfair went ahead for the first time with Caerwen Roberts lobbing the keeper from outside the box [92] and they doubled their lead with Sion Williams finishing of a neat interchange of passes [97]. Tom Verburg furthered their lead only for Joe Pritchard to make amends by scoring in the right end [110], but within two minutes Joe Vousden had made it safe with the sixth.

After the game, Manager Vinnie Walker said, "I can not praise the lads enough for an excellent team performance especialy after being two down and up against such quality opposition as their number nine, Sion Thomas. He was magnificent and should walk into their first team with performing like that."
