WITH WELL EARNED WIN AT LLANGOED

LLANGOED & DISTRICT 1v3 HOLY ISLE [H/T1-1]
.
With their game last week postponed Holy Isle lost top spot and dropped to second place behind new leaders Bro Goronwy, so they were looking for maximum points at Llangoed where the host were still looking for their first win.

The visitor’s hopes suffered a set-back when, just on the half-hour mark, Llangoed took the lead. An interchange of passes saw Jamie Roberts create space to fire home a left foot drive from just inside the box. This jolted the Isle and three minutes later they were level, Barry Haigh anticipating a through ball ran on to net with style. There were no further goals before the break even though both sides tried to edge ahead

The visitors ot the break they were looking for when leading scorer Luke Miles struck a shot that was helped on its way into the net by a deflection [52]. The hosts fought back and went in search of an equalizer and thought they had earned one when a blistering Marki Jones shot left the keeper helpless..........................
only to thud against the cross bar and bounce to safety.

Llangoed had to go for broke and began to leave themselves venerable to the break and the Isle were looking to kill the game off. With a couple of minutes left the visitors were awarded a free-kick well outside the box and Stuart Jewel planted it firmly in the net. With three points in the bag the Isle needed Bro Goronwy to lose if they were to retain top spot, but after their comfortable victory over Llanfairpwll – just last week there was litle or no hope of that!!!!! or was there...........read the report
