IT'S FOUR FOR CALLUM McMINIMEE

AND TWO MORE FOR `CLASSY CORRIG', IN WINS FOR CEMAES AND LLANGOED.

In the KonX Wales Anglesey Football league there were just the two games played as a result of the HUWS GRAY MEGAN Cup Final and the NWCFA Junior Cup semi-final.

Both league games included one of the two – of the three, most in form teams at the moment. Llangoed and District having suffered the one defeat in recent weeks, and that was a 2-1 reverse at home ................................
to Cemaes Bay, had the more difficult task, away to Valley Athletic who themselves had been on a four match unbeaten run, until they too fell to Cemaes. Llangoed returned with all three points thanks to a brace from leading scorer Corrig McGonigle, that moves them into fourth place in the League table, just three points behind Menai Bridge – though they have played more games.

The in form team of the moment is Cemaes Bay and they travelled to Newbwch’ where manager Gerwyn Williams is finding it tough going following the long enforced break after Christmas , prior to which they had seen an improvement – and picked up a couple of wins. But now he is being let down by some players and for their encounter with Cemaes they took the field with ten. Earlier in the season that might not have been such a big problem, but with Cemaes in the form they are at the moment, and confidence `sky high’ it was a disaster for the hosts and they suffered a drubbing, Callum McMinimee celebrating with four goals, Alex Jones a hat-trick and Kaylem Gardener and Lewis Connor both snatching doubles, and singles from Tam Morton, Darren Thomas and Steve Mason.
This puts Cemaes into sixth place, six points behind Llangoed but with four games fewer played.

Where next?
