Bro Goronwy having defeated Pentraeth in Last week’s semi – Final of the Huws Gray Megan Cup, were expecting no `favours’ from them in the league clash against Llanfairpwll - their only `Title Contenders. With a number of the Traeth’ players promoted to the first team, and youngsters drafted in as replacements, the game against second place Llan’ looked an even more daunting task. But the youngsters were up for it and paid little respect to their opponents league position and Matty Roberts strike put them ahead [1-0]. If that shook the high flying visitors, then they were stunned when Dion Billing doubled their lead.

Watching Bro fans couldn’t believe it, but Steve Hughes men could see their `title hope drifting away and set about pulling it round. Top scorer, Shaun Morris pulled one back, chesting the ball down on the edge of the box before striking a half volley into the net. Jason Owen, out wide, levelled with a long `cross come shot’ that sailed into the net. Once level the visitors piled on the pressure looking for a winner as the youngsters began to tire. With normal time up, the Bro contingent in the crowd were rubbing their hands at Llanfair’ `dropping two points’ but, Shaun Morris, in a crowded box, managed to poke home the winner and leave Llanfair’ a point adrift of the leaders with the same number of games played and the tile is going .................................... to the wire.
