AFTER CALLUM GRAVES PEN POINTS THE WAY

League Round-up:-

Llangoed & District, yet to collect a point, made the short Journey to Llanfairpwll Reserves who have picked up recently and won their first point at leaders Bro Goronwy. So today was an opportunity for one of the sides to register their first win.
Both sides looked a bit edgy as the game got underway and there was little in the way of chances until the twentieth minute when the match official spotted a hand ball in the box and pointed to the spot to give the visitors a chance to take the lead. Callum Graves stepped forward and duly obliged with a well struck penalty.
There were no further goals – or excitement, as half-time arrived.

The second half saw an improvement in both teams but it was the visitors who found the net to double their lead leaving the hosts with a struggle to get back into the game. Llangoed were awarded a corner and the ball caught the wind and fell at the far post where Charlie McKenna bungled the ball home. It looked like 2-0 would be the score to secure the visitors their first win, but with the ninety minutes up, a long ball over the top saw the home keeper racing out to clear and Wayne Thomas racing to get there before him........ which he did, and nodding the ball over him he then met it to run the ball home. 0-3
