PENTRAETH PROVE PRACTICE PAYS..................

AS THREE SET-PIECES PUT THEM SECOND

WEDNESDAY 17 of August 2016

Pentraeth Res. 3 v 2 Bethesda Res
Chris Davies Adrian Roberts 2[one Pen]
Iolo Owen
Dylan Jones

Work on the training field pays off for Pentraeth Reserves as they take all three points with a victory over newcomers, Bethesda Reserves, by the odd goal in five to go second.
In a tight competitive game, all three Pentraeth goals came from dead ball situations which must have been pleasing for Manager Chris Davies to see that work done in training on set pieces pays off in the `real thing’.

The visitors went two goals down from a corner kick and a free kick scored by Chris Davies and Iolo Owen. Bethesda did not let the set back deter them and they continued to press at every opportunity and they were rewarded with a brace from Adrian Roberts which included a penalty. But no sooner than Roberts had pulled one back, Dylan Jones free-kick regained the hosts two goal lead and despite Roberts second, Pentraeth held firm to see three points in the bag.
Early days! ,maybe, but second place is a good start for Pentraeth.

Leaders Valley may find it was a short stay, if either side in tonight’s `newcomers’ clash, Holyhead Town v Bryngwran bulls takes all three points.

Why not get yourself down there and see if one of the teams can. Kick-off is 18:30.

Where next?

TOWN TAKE TOP SPOT AS HAIGH HITS TWO IN CLOSE ENCOUNTER
VALLEY WIN TAKES THEM TOP AND LLANGOED WIN PUTS THEM SECOND
