RICHARD ROBERTS HITS HAT TRICK

IN ABERFFRAW DEFEAT OF CEMAES BAY

Third placed Aberffraw had a hat-trick hero in Richard Roberts who scored half of his teams goals in their 6-1 verdict over Cemaes Bay. Bay who found themselves a goal down in just five minutes as Roberts struck his. The hosts were stunned when Cemaes drew level and a corner kick evaded everyone to nestle in the net. Any hopes that they had were soon dashed as the Bay were reduced to ten men, and the hosts regained the lead with Darren Rowlands striking an unstoppable 20 yard thunderbolt into the net giving the keeper no chance. Cemaes were now struggling to keep their opponents at Bay and on 50 minutes Roberts scored a brilliant solo goal for his second and three – one. Ten minutes later he had his hat-trick when he thumped home the fourth. h Beffro’ were now in full flight and with four goals scored and his name not on the score sheet must have been frustrating for striker Gary Bolton and he set about putting that right, striking in the seventy fifth minute and again with just seven minutes left but he couldn’t match his strike partner in the time remaining.
