Saturday 17th of November 2012
ROUND-UP -
In the KonX Wales Anglesey League, third placed Llandegfan Antelope entertained Menai Bridge Tigers in the local derby, and were a goal down in fifty seconds as Lance Williams struck. Lope were back in it when a goal bound shot from Gerwyn Roberts went in off a defender t o make it one a piece at half-time. Mid-way through the second half Tigers went ahead when Andrew Barker pulled it back for Lewis Hughes to finish it off. But within a minute the impressive Aled Hughes had equalized and Gerwyn Roberts with his third goal in four games hit the winner. It was not enough for them to retain third place as inform Trearddur Bay Reserves, unbeaten in their lastsix league games, take over third place on goal difference following their seven goal blast at Cemaes Bay where the outstanding Mike Williams grabbed four goals [22, 30, 46, 51] and Ryan Lees who ran the midfield hit a brace [8, 53] and Matt Jones rounded things off. Aberffraw cannot score a goal to save their lives and have now gone five games without finding the net. Visitors Amlwch Town Res., didn’t have a such a problem and ran out winners by two goals to nil thanks to Brian Jones [47] and Chris Byast [85] .
The William HILL sponsored Elias Cup, saw the return of Asa Thomas to the Morawelon front line after a long lay-off and he wasted no time in grabbing a brace against Llanfairpwll Res., in a 6-3 victory. Sion Murphy also hit two, brother Dale one and Barry Haigh the other, whilst the visitors replies came from Joe Eastern, Sion Williams and Ryan Parsons.
In the HUWS GRAY sponsored Megan Cup, it was a much closer affair with Bodorgan taking the lead through Steve Davies only for visitors Llangoed & District to turn it around with a Tom Parry equalizer and Carl Pritchard winner.
The NWCFA JUNIOR CUP TIE HELD OVER BETWEEN LLANGEFNI Reserves and Pentraeth saw Gareth Roberts slam four goals [10,21,33,52]after Tom Taylor had given Pentraeth an eighth minute lead. Further goals followed from Mark Williams [40] and Tony Farrar [67] to give a 7-0 score-line and a place in the quarter-finals
