YET FINISHES ON LOSING SIDE AS BRO HIT LATE WINNER

Gaerwen Reserves, yet to register a win, played hosts to Bro Goronwy, who have yet to lose a game , and figured in yet another nail-biting finish. The reserves started the brighter of the two and were rewarded with the opening, when a neat move down the right ended with a cross into the box where Shaun Morris nipped in to fire the ball home[13]. Spurred on by this early success, Gaerwen played the ball around confidently and began to create openings and a little over ten minutes later Dave Jones worked his way into the box- only to be brought down and a penalty awarded. Shaun Morris stepped up and duly notches his and Gaerwen’s second. It was looking good for the host but just before the half-time break Bro pulled one back through a Sam Regan free=kick floated over the out stretched arms of ex Bro keeper Phil Evans into the back of the net.
In the second period, Gaerwen quickly restored their two goal advantage when the impressive Shaun Morris was put in the clear to run on and blast home his hat-trick to make it 3-1.
This prompted changes by the visitors which resulted in Jordan Scott feeding the ball to Littlemore who slipped the ball past Evans to make it 3-2 [57]
Bro went looking for the equalizer and when the lively Littlemore was brought down in the box, he got up, dusted himself down, fooled the keeper with his run-up and slotted the ball home to make it 3-3 . [71].
Fans of Bro Goronwy know to expect the unexpected as games head towards `overtime, having won one with a last minute goal, having lost a last minute goal to drop a point and also having scored a last minute goal to earn a point. So it was `nail-biting’ time again as Morris looked to score his fourth to win it for the hosts and Bro looked more to ensure he didn’t, as both keepers made crucial saves. But with a good three minutes left the nonstop Littlemore spun past his marker and found Liam Owen inside the box,
and his close range shot was blocked, but as luck had it, it fell into the path of James Williams who smashed the ball into the back of the net to the delight of the away contingent, who were left with two full minutes biting their finger nails and hoping for the final whistle. It came and the visitors clocked up three more points to keep on the tails of leaders Holy Isle..
Full-Time 3-4.
