TOWN TAKE TOP SPOT

AS HAIGH HITS TWO IN CLOSE ENCOUNTER

HOLYHEAD TOWN 3 V BRYNGWRAN BULLS 2

It may seem a little premature calling this game, Holyhead Town v Bryngwran Bulls a `top of the table clash’, but even at this early stage a victory for either would take them to Top spot. So there was an extra edge to the game with both looking for an early advantage, and it came in the twenty fifth minute. Tom Hadley was through on goal only to be taken down in the box for an obvious penalty. Up stepped Barry Haigh to do what he does best, stick the ball in the back of the net [1-0]
Some ten minutes later a ball played over the top saw Barry Haigh race in on goal and crack the ball towards the bottom corner......but not this time as the keeper pulled off a very good save, only for Tom Hadley to tap-in the rebound.[2-0]

Now the hosts were buzzing but half-time came without further goals.

The Bulls knew the next goal would be vital as they set about ensuring it was them who got it, to keep in the game, and they did just that seven minutes after the break, and what a goal!. Youngster Jon Jones, with consummate ease, skipped his way past three Town players before placing the ball in the bottom corner [2-1] ......game on! The visitors had plenty of time though needing to be cautious and retain a solid defence as they searched for the equalizer. But it didn’t quite go to plan and on sixty six minutes as they pressed the move broke down and Leeroy Parry played an inviting ball over the top for Barry Haigh to nip in and slide the ball under the keeper [3-1]
As if that blow wasn’t bad enough, just three minutes later the Bulls were dealt a double blow when two of their players suffered a clash of heads, and the game was stopped for quite some time in order to treat the two boys. Despite all this the visitors never gave up and reaped their reward when Ryan Jones strike pulled it back to 3-2, but Town held on to reach the summit

After the game Nick Murphy [Holyhead Town ] said, “all the players and everyone connected with the club would like to wish the two boys a SPEEDY RECOVERY“

The Management of the KWAFL would like to echo Nick’s sentiments
