AND DENY LLANGOED ANY JOY

SATURDAY 9th of JANUARY 2016
Two goals down, Maes y Bryn turn table on Llangoed in ten goal thriller to run out winners by two goals and maintain third place, level on points with Llanfairpwll, as they chase the leaders Bro Goronwy

With the KonX Wales Anglesey League full Saturday fixture programe falling foul of the atrocious weather conditions, hurried plans by Maes y Bryn and Llangoed saw their league game go ahead with an 8 p.m. kick-off under the lights on the `All Weather' at Nantporth.

Despite the wearher, it proved to be an exciting and enjoyable game `raining’ goals. Llangoed and District shocked their hosts with Craig Jones giving them a ninth minute and worse was to follow for Maes when Darren Edmunds doubled the lead three minutes later, but two goals in four minutes by Andy Clarke saw the hosts level [17,21] and with nine minutes of the first half remaining Carl Pritchard gave them the lead for the first time in the game. Llangoed were quick to brush this set back a-side and with a minute to go Charlie McKenna made it 3-3 [H/T]

Within a minute of the restart and the visitors were back in the lead, Darren Edmunds snatching his second and leaving Maes stunned, but only temporary.......... Andy Clarke, completing another hat-trick, pulled it back to 4-4 [52] ond Wisdom James put them in front six minutes later.

Clearly the next goal would be crucial, and it was Carl Pritchard for the hosts who got it [77] to secure three points and keep Maes joint second on 21 points with Llanfairpwll
