Kon-x Wales Anglesey Football League
Saturday 11th of FEBRUARY 2017
Just three games played on Saturday, one in the league where third placed Holyhead Town began playing `catch-up’ with their games in hand of the leaders Llangoed & Dist., who were on cup duty.

Holyhead Town 4 v 0 Bodorgan juniors Tom Hadley [3] Tristan Hughes
Holyhead Town, who had slipped t to third having had to endure a number of postponements were looking for maximum points in the first of their four games in hand with Bodorgan Juniors the visitors
The first half saw the juniors battling a gale force wind as well as some good football from Holyhead. The visitors were much depleted for various reasons but the eleven gave a never say die performance and although it was a backs to the wall job for most of the first half, they kept their heads up despite conceding an early goal, when the `youthful’ Jackie Welsh played Tom Hadley in, and he calmly slotted it hoer [5 mins] . Craig Brodie fired over minutes later as the visitors struggled against Towns’ powerful forward play and a second goal; was on the cards. It came on 15 minutes, The Bodorgan defence looked to have dealt with an in swinger comer but the headed clearance fell to Tristan Hughes, lurking on the edge of the penalty box and he blasted the ball into the net.
Holyhead, with a strong wind behind them camped in the Juniors half and Hadley went close on 30 minutes then five minutes later he struck the bar with a fierce shot but the Juniors kept going and had sporadic attacks with Kieran Murphy heading wide on 40 minutes. The juniors would have settled for a 2v0 score line at half time but on 45 minutes Holyhead broke down the left and from the cross Hadley scored his second
Now with the wind at their backs the juniors pushed more forward and Ashley Jones fired wide on 47 minutes he came closer on 50 minutes as his smart header inched past the post and they gained in confidence. But they couldn’t use the conditions to good effect and on 72 minutes Holyhead sealed the win as Hadley popped up on the right to fire home and complete his hat trick. The juniors gallantly tried in vain to get a consolation prompted by Ryan Hughes in midfield but it wasn't to be. Holyhead saw out the game with Thomas Roberts starring in Town’s midfield,
The win puts Holyhead on 22 points Wi6th three games in hand on leaders Llangoed who have 28 pints.....................it’s going to the wire again with the leaders still to visit Town.

BWLCH CARBOOT CUP.
Llangoed & District 7 v 1 Bethesda Res.,
Llangoed completed their fixtures in extremely cold and blustery conditions but that didn't deter them going for it5 straight from the off instantly, closing down Bethesda’s every move, and It took 17 minutes for the opening goal, after a string of corners for the home side, Matty Owen taking the set piece which was laid back to him and he sent the ball sailing over everyone straight into the back of the net.
The second goal coming on 31 minutes, another corner kick this time delivered from Llion Roberts was met by the head of Mitchell Jones and his bullet like header flashed into the back of the net Half time 2-0
Tjhe3 second period kicked off and this time Bethesda struck first on 48 minutes when Carl Pritchard picked the ball up on the half way line and tried his luck, his luck, his shot seemed destined for the keepers arm when it hit a wicked bobble on the pitch and disappeared over his shoulder into the net.
This seemed to anger the home side as straight from the kick off there was an upturn in tempo and on 50 minutes the score was 3-1 when yet another corner kick found Dylan Williams to fire home for his first goal of the season.
On 55 minutes it was 4-1 Llion Roberts being played through by Craig Jones he carried the ball to the edge of the box and hammered the ball into the net if the keeper had of saved it he'd of ended up in the net with it.
63 minutes Llangoed were awarded a penalty when the centre half was adjudged to of handled in the box up stepped top scorer Carwyn Williams the send the ball straight down the middle for 5-1.
On 68 minutes Carwyn Williams broke down the right and fired a ball across the box for Llion to net his 2nd of the match.
Llangoed saving the best till last Jamie Lee Roberts firing home a half volley from 25 yards out to top of a fantastic home performance and hand the baton over to Mynydd Llandegai who have two games to play
Llangoed have done all they can to qualify for the of this cup Gavin played all their games winning 5 and losing 1 Mynydd having played 2 games less but winning 3 losing 1 Llangoed having a goal advantage of 12 over Mynydd so if Mynydd win both games they must score 13 to stop Llangoed reaching their 2nd final of the season.
Man of the match Mitchell Jones but it could have been any of the 14 who took part today.

Valley having already reached the Final of the LUCAS OIL DARGIE Cup met Bryngwran Bulls in the semi final of the William Hill Elias Cup looking to make it a double
In what was expected to be a close game Valley ran out winners by five go9als to nil. Ryan Heywood claiming two and the Williams boys, Mike, Liam and Justin one each
