Last Saturday, Mitchell Jones put Llangoed ahead after seventeen minutes but went on to lose the game. In tonight’s game it took him just six minutes. picking up the ball outside the box he made space for himself looked up, let fly and watched the ball sail into the net. Visitors Mynydd LLandegai Res., were undaunted and set about pulling it back but half-time arrived with them still trailing the Jones strike.

From the restart it took Mynydd just four minutes to pull level, through Richard Hayes and it was game on! But five minutes later the hosts were awarded a free- kick and Mathew Owen tucked it away to regain their lead. The visitors were handed the perfect opportunity to draw level when they were awarded a penalty and up stepped Hayes looking for his second, but up went his spot kick and over the bar. Llan took full advantage of the `let-off’ and Caerwyn Williams headed home a left wing cross to increase the lead, and when Mathew Roberts added the fourth there was no way back for Mynydd.
Although sixteen year old Llangoed debutant Dylan Williams did not score he had an excellent game to show his manager he is ready for a place.

Valley 3 v 0 Bodorgan Juniors
Mark Hamblin
Justin Williams
Tommy jenkins

Valley, having let in a late equalizer on Saturday had Manager Dan Jones stressing the need to concentrate for the full ninety minutes against visitors Bodorgan Juniors.. So when Mark Hambln put the hosts ahead although they pressed to increase the lead it was not a case of `all out attack’ and the defence remained focused. There were no further goals before the break, but just thirty seconds after the restart d Valley had doubled the score. Goal scorer Hamblin turned provider, sending over a cross that Justin Williams firmly headed home.
Now Bod’ were up against it and it showed when Tommy Jenkins dribble and run was ended when he was pulled down. He got to his feet, dusted himself down, placed the ball, and drove the ball home for the third.

After the match, Dan Jones commented that it “...was an excellent game”, and he was full of praise for Ian Hughes performance in mid-field and concluded that,”... the defence were `rock solid”.
