Valley's grEIGHT win keeps them in second place

as visitors Llanfairpwll feel full strike force

Valley welcomed Llanfairpwll Reserves and were dominant from the off not allowing the visitors to settle. Leading scorer Shaun Jenkins wasted no time in finding the net to give them the lead [15] and there was more agony for Llan’ when Gareth Roberts was pulled down in the box and Shane Boylyn strode up and tucked away the resulting penalty [20]. The penalty saw the visitors somewhat deflated and within two minutes Adam Roberts running on to a Connor Williams through ball made it three, and then just before half-time Gareth Roberts who had been pulled down for the penalty did get his reward when he headed home from a free-kick. Substitute Deion Backhouse then took to the field and proved the manager decision to introduce him was spot on as he marked his debut, by finding the net with his first touch.
There was no way back for the visitors and the second half was going to seem like a long one for them, but to their credit they knuckled down and tried to stem the waves of attack. But it wasn’t long before valley struck again, as Connor Williams broke clear to net goal number six. Valley by now were in total control and rounded it off with two headed goals. First, Deion Backhouse, celebrating a debut double, followed by Gareth Roberts also notching his second of the game. Valley are looking a dangerous threat to the leaders as they trail Bro Goronwy by four points, but significantly have three games in hand, but Manager Adam Archer held the view that, ` `games in hand are of no value - UNTIL they have been won’ and that’s what we will be aiming to do’. Until that time, Bro Goronwy HAVE the points in the bag and we will be giving our all to overtake them.- or any other challengers.
