HIGGINS HAT-TRICK FOILS MORAWELON

DETAILS FOR THE 29th of SEPTEMBER :-

In the KonX Wales Anglesey football league there were two significant hat-tricks.
Tom Taylor of Pentraeth struck his FOURTH consecutive hat-trick, quite an achievement and he is to be congratulated.
Jack Higgins, of ever improving Llandegfan Antelope, scored his hat-trick at home against League leaders Morawelon, something no one else has done, and dent their 100% start to the season. Leading two nil at half-time it should have been enough to inflict a first defeat on the leaders but they fought back to scrape a draw with a Barry Haigh Penalty and one each from Dale & Jordon Murphy
Whilst the leaders were dropping their first points of the season, Pentraeth – and Tom Taylor, were continuing their goal scoring spree with SEVEN against visitors Amlwch Town Res. Taylor claimed three, strike partner Gareth Roberts 2, Sam Regan and Mark Williams one a piece,. Maintaining their unbeaten start to the season, Pentraeth are now seven points adrift but with THREE gamers in hand and who do they play next week........................Morawelon!
Llangefni Town Res and Newborough were both home winners and move up to 5th and 6th respectively. Llangefni won 3-1 against Aberffraw who had taken an early lead through Gary Bolton, but the hosts bounced back through Mike Williams, Gary Griffiths and Aaron Rickards. Newbro' edged it by 3-2 against Llanfairpwll Res.,, the game turning on a very debatable decision that saw the visitors reduced to ten men with the score at 2-2, Nathan Moore had scored a double for the hosts and Ricky Roberts a double for the visitors, and with ten minutes remaining Gary Wynnard scored the Newbro’ winner against the ten men.
Trearddur Bay Reserves continue their climb away from the bottom three with a 5-1 verdict over their Bodorgan visitors. Dave Webb opened his seasons account with two goals. Mark Thomas joined him with a double and Ryan Woolley rounded it off. Jack Cafferty netting for the visitors.
Menai Bridge Tigers took the honours at Llanrug to move safely into the next round of the NWCFA Junior Cup. The hosts had a FOUR goal star in Ben Bolton but Tigers had the league’s leading scorer Lance Williams who struck the extra time winner [119[, after Andrew Barker[45,85], Alex James [67] and Lewis Hughes[69] had contributed to 4-4 score-line after ninety minutes.
