PENTRAETH PULL POINTS BACK ON LEADERS

ROUND-UP -

IN The KonX Wales Anglesey football league second placed Pentraeth had the opportunity to reduce the Morawelon lead at the top with their game at Cemaes Bay postponed and pull it back they did, running out winners against Newborough by eleven goals to three at home to Newborough. Tom Taylor registered another hat-trick, with Llion Williams and Gareth Roberts both hitting doubles. Mark Williams, Sam Regan, Warren Fletcher and Rees Roberts all hit singles. Newborough replied with two penalties scored by Gerwyn Williams and Nathan Moore.

Llanfairpwll Reserves move into third place with a 2-0 victory at Bodorgan with late goals. Substitute Ryan Parsons had two touches before scoring with his third [65]
and Caerwyn Roberts added a second with nine minutes remaining.

In the William HILL Elias Cup there were hat-tricks for Lance Williams and Andrew Barker in Menai Bridge Tigers victory over Trearddur Bay Utd., Reserves by eleven goals to one . Gareth Barker couldn’t quite join them netting a brace. Other goals flowed from Dewi Caughter, Alex Jones, and Dylan Roberts. Trearddur Bay having gone two down inside eight minutes pulled it back to 2-1 through Jordan Jones, but then found the going too much as the Tigers roared through to the next round.

In the NWCFA JUNIOR CUP ROUND 2 ties postponed from last week, the two KonX Wales Anglesey Leagues teams, both playing away, progressed to round three. Llangefni Town Reserves had a comfortable passage scoring nine without reply at Rhuddlan Town Res. Dion Jones grabbed a hat-trick and Gerallt Roberts, Emlyn Davies and Gareth Wyn Hughes all collecting doubles.

Aberffraw returned with a narrow 3-2 verdict from F.C. Tudno in an exciting and quite even game. Beffro Keeper Gerallt Roberts saved a tenth minute penalty, before Darren Rowlands put them in front [41] and Gareth Wyn Hughes scored his first goal for the club to double their lead. Ryan Jones pulled one back [57] only for Richard Roberts to restore their advantage [75]. But the Tudno youngsters were not a side to give in and battled to bring it back to 3-2 with Jones adding his second, but Beffro were in no mood to let it slip.
