WITH ANDREW BARKER AND LANCE WILLIAMS HAT-TRICKS

In the William HILL Elias Cup Round 1 tie, Menai Bridge Tigers entertained a Trearddur Bay Reserves side that has been enjoying good results over the last few weeks, but the hosts caught them cold with striker Andrew Barker firing home after just five minutes. This was quickly added to by a Dewi Caughter strike three minutes later, but if the Tigers thought they had their visitors on the rack they were made to think again when four minutes later Jordan Jones scored to reduce the arrears to 2-1, and it looked like `game on’. But that proved to be wishful thinking for the visitors as the Tigers roared on with a goal feast. Alex Jones blasted a shot from outside the box into the roof of the net to regain their two goal advantage [19] and, and livewire striker Andrew Barker added his second [35] . A minute into the second half and Andrew Barker completed his hat-trick and two minutes later, leading scorer, Lance Williams got on the score sheet and was quickly followed by a Dylan Roberts long range effort to make it six [50]. A fine dribble by Dafydd Evans was halted by a brave stop at his feet by keeper Elwyn Durkan but as the ball broke free ,the alert, Gareth Barker tucked it away [63] Gareth Barker then added his second [67]. Lance Williams followed suit, adding his second [72] and he completed his hat-trick with eight minutes remaining.
