HOLY ISLE AND LLANGEFNI TOWN SHARE POINTS

AS KEEPER OWEN SHOWS HIS CLASS

Holy Isle entertained a Llangefni Town team that because of cup games have played the least number of league games than any other team, and so despite lying in sixth place, wins in those games in hand would see them placed above their hosts.
So an even match was expected and to a degree that was the case, though Holy Isle will point to the fact that visiting keeper Gwyndaf Owen between the posts gave a class A performance, the A standing for amazing, as he pulled off save after save, to both deny and frustrate the home raiders. Whilst, on the other hand, Cefni would be quick to stress that they too had plenty of chances to kill the game off after they had taken the lead, through regular marksman Llion Jones after some ten minutes. Once in front the visitors did enjoy good possession and opened up the home defence on a number of occasions but failed to add to their lead. Certainly, at the opposite end Custodian Owen was in impressive form and made two excellent saves to keep out Stewart efforts, and the hosts were beginning to doubt they would be able to beat him but Gethin Rowlands finally managed to and then the Isle up their game and pressured the Cefni back four , but even when breached, behind them there was Owen to keep them out. Although the game ended all square, the one point was enough to see Holy Isle leap-frog Cemaes Bay into third place one point ahead
