AND JENKINS & SILENCE DOUBLES SEE VALLEY THGROUGH

Details for the NWCFA Junior Cup
Having secured their first win in the League last week, Bodorgan followed it up with a 6 v 3 victory against Cymru Hotspurs to see them safely into round 2 of the NWCFA Junior CUP
Cymru Hotspurs arrived at Cae Cob as somewhat of an unknown quality though they boasted a mid table position in the Clwyd League so the juniors expected a tough task. But it was the juniors who settled quickly and Elliot Patterson showed his intent. With a snap shot on 10 minutes, and five minutes later, he was set free and won his one on one with the keeper to slip the ball into the net [1-0] .On 20 minutes the juniors doubled the score as Luke Allaway netted after good interplay between Patterson and himself. [2-0] The Hotspurs eventually started playing and Ben Patterson fired a fierce shot which home keeper Roberts tipped over, but the juniors hit back and Sam Hallas drive was well saved by keeper Aaron Elliot. On 27 minutes the Hotspurs scored from a Ben Patterson frère-kick, and it was game on [2-1]
Stephen Hughes came close on three occasions for the Juniors before Elliot Patterson scored, neatly sweeping home a cross from the right [3-1] Back came the Hotspurs and a corner kick swung over was cleared but only as far as Alex Whitehouse who rifled home a tremendous volley [3-2] .With the first half almost up, Luke Allaway was put through and he netted to make it 4 v 2 at half time.
The juniors started the second half well and Luke Allaway scorned two chances for the home team as the Hotspurs tried to gain the initiative in mid field and on 70 minutes Jack Heath came close to scoring but Roberts was up to the task and saved well. On 72 minutes Elliot Patterson completed his hat trick as again he latched on to a long ball and he outstripped the defence to score [5-2] .The hosts were enjoying a period of superiority and appeared to be winning easily, but on 86 minutes the Hotspurs struck as Connor Gore was deemed to be upended in midfield and from the short free kick Alex Whitehouse fired towards goal and Josh Roberts the Juniors keeper appeared to have the ball covered but let it slip into the net [5-3]. Hotspurs grew in confidence and attacked to try and gain a result but the juniors gained a free kick just inside the opposition half which Stephen Hughes duly despatched into the back of the net on 88 minutes ‘[6-3]
.That was the last action in a tremendous cup tie with the Juniors running out 6 v 3 winners and a Patterson's hat trick was matched by Jason Owens performance in defence but overall it was a good team performance the Juniors now look forward to Round Two and Nefyn United.

Valley were also involved in the NWCFA Junior Cup with a trip to Bethesda against their first team, but it took just two minutes for Tommy Jenkins to run through and slot home [0-1] Despite Valley seeing plenty of the ball and creating chances, it was Bethesda who took theirs through Liam Morris and Shaun Morris [2-1 half time].
In the second half Valley kept the pressure on and as Jerome silence came off the bench to nod home a Justin Williams cross. [2-2], and a tremendous run by Tommy Jenkins down the left ended with him slamming the ball in to the bottom corner [2-3]. Then a Valley corner saw Ashley Hughes bullet header smashed the back of the net [2-4] with time ticking away the referee awarded Bethesda a penalty much to the surprise of the Valley players and Matty Barley smashed it straight down the middle [3-4]
Valley silenced any hopes of a Bethesda come back when Jerome silence hit the back of the net [3-5] again!
