AS WEATHER TAKES ITS TOLL

The weather might have had it's say in three games being postponed, but in the three that did beat the weather there was everything you could want, excitment, quality fotball, quality goals, and drama.

In the KonX Wales Anglesey League, leaders, Pentraeth welcomed an Aberffraw team who have not scored in the last four weeks, and yet found themselves a goal down after just ten minutes with a Matty Reynolds free kick breaking the visitors blank sequence and give them the lead. Mark Williams equalized when Llion Williams played him in. In the second half, Mark Williams found Gareth Roberts with a long throw and his header put the hosts in front. The game saw no further goals but it was an entertaining and exciting game throughout and Aberffraw can consider them unlucky not to grab a point, but it's Pentraeth at the top with a five point lead over morawelon.

The William HILL sponsored Elias Cup tie, Cemaes Bay v Llangoed & District was postponed. As was the HUWS GRAY sponsored Megan Cup tie at Llanfairpwll where Amlwch Town were due to visit.

In the KonX Wales Dargie Cup, the two most inform teams, Llandegfan Antelope and Trearddur Bay Utd Res., met head to head and produced a game that had almost everything, and will be long remebered by those watching.Seven goals, which included a hat-trick and two penalties, two sendings off , and extra-time before a first ever goal by 17 year old Joshua Royds gave the hosts a place in the quarter-finals. Aled Hughes had put Antelope ahead, only for Joe Caven to equalize. Cavern then scored a penalty to put the Bay ahead [80] - after the home side had a player sent off. But with three minutes remaining Gerwyn Roberts equalized . So into extra-time and more drama,as the darkness set-in. Caven completed his hat-trick with his second penalty [97] only later to be sent off. Gerwyn Roberts equalized with his second [110] and with just four minutes remaining came the Royds winner.

The one outstanding tie in the NWCFA JUNIOR CUP TIE saw Menai Bridge Tigers try and continue were they left off when the tie against Caernarfon Boro’ was abandoned with them dominating and holding a 1 v 0 lead. In a much tighter game Tigers took the lead when Andrew Barker played a dream ball through to Lewis Hughes who ran on to score [37]. In the second half Andrew Barker did it his way with two classy goals them put them into the quarter final draw.
