LLANGOED & DISTRICT TAKE THE POINTS

AGAINST LLANGEFNI TOWN RESERVES

Llangoed & District, probably the most inconsistent side in the league, lying fourth from the bottom, welcomed Llangefni Town Reserves, who were two places above them, produced one of their good performances and were well worthy of the three points in their 3-0 victory.
Last week they scored three at home in the NWCFA Junior cup with a Dave Flynn double and it was a case of Deja Vu yesterday against Cefni. Despite some fine play with some penetrating passes, and half-time looming the score-line remained blank. Cue, Dave Flynn, he collected the ball and without any assistance he set off to score an excellent solo goal, well worthy of an opening goal [40].
If that hadn’t stunned the visitors, then the second goal did. Trailing , one nil, and with the atrocious weather conditions they were no doubt looking forward to a `hot half time cuppa’ before setting about pulling it back in the second period. But, well into stoppage time, Carl Pritchard and Tom Parry with a neat interchange of passes set Flynn free and he duly obliged by hitting his second [45+2].
The restart saw the hosts begin to dominate the play and it was no surprise when Dylan Williams met a left wing cross from Mark Jones to head home. Dwain Hunt making his debut in the Llangoed goal would have been pleased with his performance and especially keeping a `clean sheet’. The win sees Llangoed leap-frog their opponents and now sit in seventh place.
