GARETH ROBERTS HAT-TRICK HELPS PENTRAETH

CONTINUE 100% RECORD THIS SEASON

KonX Wales Anglesey League Leaders, Pentraeth welcomed a young Bodorgan team that, despite their spirit and togetherness, were no match for a team boasting a 100% record in both league and cups.

Looking to maintain their record and maximum points to stay ahead in the title race, it took them just ten minutes to take the lead through striker Gareth Roberts following good work by Llion Williams then turned scorer , with youngster Rees Roberts setting him free to blast the ball home. All three were involved with the third goal when an exchange of passes between Llion Williams and Gareth Roberts left an opening for Rees Roberts to lash the ball past keeper Chris Evans – who despite the score-line had shown his ability having pulled off a number of good saves. Keeper Evans stood no chance when the lively Rees Roberts combined with Gareth Roberts who thumped the ball into the roof of the net to make it four before the break.

After the break, keeper Evans slipped up by not holding on to a free kick from Liam Hogan and the ball rolled free where the quick thinking Gareth Roberts stole in to toe poke number five. Goal number six was fittingly scored by Rees Roberts who was having an excellent game and relishing the space he was being allowed. The scoring was rounded off by Tony Farrar with a blistering free-kick to make it seven nil.

Whilst the outcome was most probably expected, there were times when the visitors managed to break on the counter but failed with the end product, but they could not be faulted for the effort put in over the ninety minutes. So victory number eleven – out of eleven played, gives the leaders a five point lead over rivals Morawelon – though their rivals enjoy a better goal difference by seven goals.
