LLANFAIRPWLL RES., REGISTER VICTORY DESPITE

OUTSTANDING DISPLAY BY CEFNI KEEPER THOMAS

At Llanfair PG, it was a battle of the reserves with Llanfairpwll Reserves entertaining fellow Reserves, Llangefni Town, which saw the hosts claiming the points in a single goal victory. Despite the score-line, what seemed to be a very close game was only made so with the brilliance of visiting keeper Alwyn Thomas who played like a man inspired. There was nothing he could do about Ricky Roberts winner, a thunderbolt from outside the box that flew into the net leaving him helpless. But he twice denied Roberts with breath taking saves that would have normally earned him a hat-trick. He pulled off other full length saves to deny Darren Edmunds and David Hays and frustrated the hosts to the extent that they pushed even more men forward and were in danger of getting caught on the break but they held their advantage till the end and gained three valuable points to see them in sixth place.
