IN 1-1 DRAW AS VISITING KEEPER STARS

Llangoed and District played host to third placed Trearddur Bay Utd., Reserves, and in an entertaining game ended up sharing the points in a one all draw. Llangoed, who on their day are a match for anyone, lack consistency and despite enjoying plenty of possession found themselves a goal down after twenty eight minutes. A ball played down the left flank had the home defence yelling for offside, but match official J.C.R. Williams waved them aside and the ball was then pulled across the six yard box where Dave Webb pounced to force the ball home.

Although this lifted the visitors, it was the home side that opened up, stroking the ball around with purpose and creating a number of chance, but keeper Elwyn Durken Pulled off some extraordinary saves , and on the rare occasion he was beaten the wood-work came to his aid. Leading scorer, Wayne Thomas, twice rattling the wood-work as the half ended with the single goal dividing the two teams. Within five minutes of the re-start Llangoed were level. Good work by Dave Flynn saw Carl Pritchard, beat the defender before laying the ball off to Tom Parry who tucked the ball away neatly. The hosts stepped it up a gear and visiting keeper continued where he left off in the first period with a display that earned him Man of the Match, and keeps his team in third place.
