MORAWELON EARN THREE POINTS IN TIGHT LOCAL DERBY

AS BARRY HAIGH HITS A BRACE

Second placed Morawelon welcomed in form, Trearddur Bay Utd. Reserves - currently occupying third place, for what turned out to be an excellent game of football. Both sides battled to get a grip on mid-field to dictate matters but play evenly matched. That is until, ace striker, Asa Thomas put the Moras ahead, when he met an inviting cross by Ricky Lavelle with a perfectly timed volley to blast the ball home [36]. If the home fans expected the goals to flow, it didn’t happen and half-time arrived with the hosts holding their one goal advantage. On the hour mark, the Bay were level with Dave Webb meeting a Ryan Lees cross with a perfect volley to match the one that gave Morawelon the lead. The Bay did not have time to build on their goal as within minutes Barry Haigh was brought down in the box and he dusted himself down before hitting the net to make it 2-1. This left the visitors pushing for an equalizer but two minutes into injury time Barry Haigh was on hand to poke home an Asa Thomas pass for his second to make it 3-1.
